Inspired by the vibrant and energetic Colorado landscape, this mural is a bright and uplifting piece curated for the Glen Willow Community Center, owned and operated by Boulder Housing Partners. Glen Willow is located near the west end of Pearl Street and is home to people with disabilities, seniors, and families π
Harmony evokes warm radiant sunshine, peaceful cool mountains, and cheerful flowers β it allows viewers to immerse themselves in nature safely and comfortably. By combining my geometric and organic-flow techniques, this mural creates a stimulating and inviting viewing experience that encourages feelings of peace and happiness. Harmony is intended to be an abstract representation of the Glen Willow community because nature itself is diverse and inclusive β it exists without judgment and is beloved by all in its own unique and individual ways.
The experience I had creating this mural will stay with me for the rest of my life. Upon my arrival at the Glen Willow Community Center in Boulder, CO, the residents greeted me with hospitality. Together we transformed a quiet space into a vibrant haven filled with laughter, kindness, friendship, renewed hope, and family. Itβs easy to disregard the beauty of human connection - or how all-encompassing it can feel when we experience it again. Especially during times as unprecedented and isolated as these, it is easy to shy away instead of embracing each other when we need it most. I feel lucky to have been embraced by the individuals who reside in this wonderful complex, and I am honored to have brought creativity, joy, happiness, and friendship to them as well. Together we created a multifaceted masterpiece!
I look forward to coming back and enjoying this mural with the new friends Iβve made here π Thank you for opening up your homes and lives to me. Iβll be forever touched and grateful for my time there!
